About the Play

In 1975 six young friends take the boat from Dublin to seek their fortunes on the streets of London. They work hard and live hard all the while hankering for home. Nearly thirty years later as they meet to ‘wake’ one of their own, the secrets of their souls are revealed as they reluctantly reach the realisation of where home now is. Strong language and adult themes throughout.

About the Group

Lislea Dramatic Players were formed in 1940, performing plays for the local community year on year. Since 2008 they have played on the festival circuit with some success. They trust audiences enjoy Murphy’s ‘The Kings’ as much as they enjoy staging it and look forward to performing it in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew.
